Manually Update Network Database Follow

If you are running a Network version of Cubit and have updated your software to the latest version and are given the message of "Database version number is not the same as the application (X.000.00X.00)." you will need to update the Database on the server.
You can actually do that from your own computer as long as you have the necessary details.

Please follow the guide below:

  1. Browse to C:\Program Files\Buildsoft\BT2 or Cubit\ and run the 'Cubit Management.exe'.

  2. Once you open the Cubit Management you will notice that there is no 'Connections' in the main window, to connect to the server's database please click the "Connect" button to open up the new connection window.


  3. Once the new window opens up you will see it has fields with information that needs to be filled out to connect to the Servers database.
    For the 'Server' field you will need to enter in the Server's "Computer Name" or IP Address (This you may need to get from your I.T department/Supervisor.), just remember that these details are Case Sensitive:

    Server: [Server Name/IP Address]
    Port: 5432
    Database: buildsoft
    User Name: buildsoftuser
    Password: Buildsoftuserpassword

    once these details have been entered in click 'OK'.


  4. Now that the Database has been connected you will need to manually update the database. To do this please click the "Upgrade" button, from here it will bring up a window with the list of updates that need to be done.
    All you need to do here is click the 'Upgrade" button along the bottom and the software will update the Database to the latest version.

Once this process has been done you can now start up Cubit as the database is the same version as the one you are currently running.
