I would say the best way to do this would be to take a copy of the existing project using the create a copy item in the project menu. Name the copied project something appropriate, then open it (create a copy does not open the copy so you have to open it after the copy is made).
In the copied project insert scale and align the new drawing. With this in place over the existing drawing you should be able to see where the modifications are, you can then delete the changed items and trace the new ones.
