Quick Overview
- Software Assurance agreements are being grandfathered
- These changes apply only to customers with perpetual products without an active Software Assurance agreement

What Is Changing?
For many years, Software Assurance has allowed our customers to:
- Keep their software up to date
- Access help and advice from our technical support team
Since 2022, all new Buildsoft customers have been purchasing subscription-based licenses, which already include:
- Technical support
- Software updates
- Greater flexibility for managing licenses
As part of our continued focus on delivering flexible, modern licensing options, Software Assurance is now being grandfathered and will have limited availability moving forward.

How Does This Affect You?
If You Have Perpetual Licenses Without an Active Software Assurance Agreement
- You may re-enter a Software Assurance agreement until 28 February 2025
- Re-entering allows you to:
- Regain access to technical support
- Continue receiving software updates
- After 28 February 2025:
- You cannot re-enter Software Assurance
- To access support or updates, you must trade in your license for a subscription
If You Have an Active Software Assurance Agreement
- There is no change to your contract
- Continue to:
- Maintain your agreement
- Renew it as usual
- Access support and software updates
If You Use a Subscription License
- No changes are being made
- Your subscription already includes:
- Technical support
- Software updates
Final Opportunity
Deadline to re-enter Software Assurance:
28 February 2025
After this date, customers with expired agreements must transition to a subscription to receive updates or support.
