This guide provides step-by-step instructions for updating and configuring Cubit Estimating as a Standalone or Network user.

Before You Begin
To ensure a smooth installation, please verify the following prerequisites:
- Administrative Privileges: You must have administrator rights on the machine.
- Use Provided Installers: Only use the installer files sent to you via email. Using other versions of the software may make you ineligible for a standard update, potentially resulting in additional costs.
- Licence Key: Have your Licence Key ready for activation. Ensure that your licence key is enabled for the versions of Cubit you are installing. If unsure, get in touch with support.
- Review System Requirements: Before starting, confirm that your machine meets the minimum system requirements. It is important to review these when upgrading between major versions, as requirements may change.
- Perform a Backup: Before proceeding, perform a full backup of any existing Cubit Estimating data. The update process is irreversible, so it is critical to verify that your backup was completed successfully before you continue with the installation.
Backing up your Cubit Data
Before updating, it is vital to complete a Cubit backup. This protects you against any issues throughout the update process and into the future. For this, we recommend configuring your backups and then performing one before the update process.
Cubit Estimating Backup Configuration
Note: For Network installations, this process will be completed on the Server Database.
Once automatic backups are configured, simply press the backup option from the Cubit Management Console to initiate a backup.
Update Installation
Note: For Network Installations, this process will need to be completed on both the server, as well as all Cubit Clients. Clients not updated will fail to connect to the Database.
- Launch the provided Cubit Estimating installer file to begin.
- The installer will recognise your existing Cubit and prompt you to Update, select Yes.
- Install any dependencies asked for throughout the process, continue through all prompts.
- Read the Licence Agreement, select I accept the terms of the licence agreement, and click Next.
- The installer is now ready. Click Next to proceed.
- The installation will now complete, click Finish upon completion.
