How to Change the Rounding Format Used in Cubit Reports

Follow

This article shows you how to change the rounding format used in Cubit reports, which can be useful for things like hiding decimal places in the Rate and Total columns. A guided demo is included below the custom steps.

Overview

By default, Cubit reports may show values with decimal places (e.g. $123.45). In some cases, you may want these values to appear as whole numbers. This is particularly true when presenting totals and rates in printed reports for clients or internal summaries. This can be done by customising the report and adjusting the Format String of specific cells to remove the decimal places.

The instructions below guide you through creating a custom version of a report and applying the rounding format.

Steps to Change Rounding in a Custom Report

  1. Open your job in Cubit Estimating.
  2. Click Data from the top menu bar, then select All Reports.
  3. In the Reports window, select the Trade Report, then click Customise.
  4. In the Report Builder, click the Save button and choose Save As.
  5. Enter a name for your custom report and click Save.
  6. Click on the cell you want to edit (e.g. Rate or Total column).
  7. Click the cogwheel icon to open the cell’s settings.
  8. In the settings panel, click the three dots next to the Format String field.
  9. Select Currency and then select C0 (this displays the value as currency with no decimal places), then click OK.
  10. Your Format String should now display as C0.
  11. Repeat steps 6–9 for any other cells you want to change.
  12. Click the Preview tab to confirm your changes.
  13. Once you're happy, go back to the Designer tab and click Save.
  14. Close the Report Builder to return to the All Reports window.
  15. Find your new Custom Report in the list and click Preview to view it.
