Global / Offsider DBI Error "Table is Busy" "Network Initialization Failed"

If you get a message saying DBI Error 'Network Initialisation Failed' or  DBI Error 'Table is busy' when you try to start Global or Offsider Estimating, then the software configuration is incorrect and will need to be updated.

This is most common with the network version of Global or Offsider Estimating.

To resolve this issue follow the instructions below:

1. Go to the C:\ESW folder.

2. Run the file named bdecfg32.exe.

3. Select Paradox from the left-hand side of the new window.

4. On the right-hand side will be a set of parameters. The first line should read Net DIR. When you click in this line a small button with three dots will appear at the end of the line. Click the button and then browse to the location where the Buildsoft data is stored and select the PDOXUSRS.NET file. Once selected click Open.

5. Click on File and select Save.

6. Close the Window. 

Once you have done this your Global/Offside Estimating software should start normally.
